jam session (two people)
A jam session is a fun and creative way to spend time with your favorite person. Whether it’s a date, a friendly activity, or family bonding time, stepping outside of your comfort zone and connecting with clay can help you connect with each other.
Choose between a Making Session or a Decorating Session
Making Session
Duration: 2 hours total
What you do: Each person gets time at the wheel to throw a piece and a guided hand-building segment.
Wheel throwing: Learn basic centering, pulling, and shaping. Each participant will throw one piece on the wheel (we’ll help you refine it).
Hand-building options (choose one each): tiny picture frame, keychain/bag charm, small vase, or cup.
Instruction: Step-by-step guidance from our potter and assistance with handles or textures if you choose a cup or vase.
What you take home: We’ll bisque fire and glaze your wheel-thrown and hand-built pieces after firing. Finished pieces will be ready for pickup (or shipping) in 3–4 weeks.
Decorating Session
Duration: 1 hour
What you do: Come ready to paint and decorate pre-made bisqueware pieces.
Ordering ahead: Pieces must be ordered in advance so they’re ready for your session. Choices: mug, simple vase, small picture frame, utensil holder, bowl, or pet bowl. Choice of pieces will alter the final price. See the dropdown at checkout for details.
Decorating: Using slip, learn techniques and pattern ideas to make your pieces pop.
What you take home: We’ll glaze fire your decorated pieces. Finished work will be ready for pickup (or shipping) in about 2-3 weeks.
Booking Details
Price: Includes instruction, clay/selected pottery, glazing, and firing. If no one can pick up the pieces, an additional fee for shipping will be added.
Age: Recommended for ages 10+. Children under 5’ tall will not be able to use the pottery wheel.
What to wear: Clothes you don’t mind getting a bit of clay on; bring an apron if you like. Have a hair tie, hat, or headband if your hair is shoulder-length or longer.
Cancellation/Reschedule: Please notify us at least 48 hours in advance to reschedule.
How to Prepare
For Making Sessions: Bring ideas or reference photos if you have a specific aesthetic in mind. We’ll help translate them into form and surface.
For Decorating Sessions: Order your chosen type of pottery at least one week before your session so it’s ready for you.
